Holly Wells is director and primary mediator for Neutral Ground Mediation Services and has been mediating since 1992. She has completed more than 160 hours of mediation training and has been certified by three community mediation programs. Holly has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Elder Mediation Interest Group of the Oregon Mediation Association since mid-2005. Previously she served as a member of the Board of the Senior Provider Information Network (SPIN) (2006-2007) and mediated as a volunteer with the Portland Small Claims Court mediation program (2006-2007). She was a member of the city's Advisory Committee for the Portland Neighborhood Mediation Center (2001), after serving for a year as a volunteer in that program. Holly also volunteered as a mediator for the District of Columbia Mediation Service (1992-1996) and the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights (1993-1997). She served as an Equal Employment Opportunity counselor while working as an administrator at the National Academy of Sciences (1994-1998). Holly is an associate member of the Oregon Bar Association sections on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Elder Law, and Estate planning. Holly holds a B.A. from the University of California at Riverside and completed all course work but the thesis for a Master of Theological Studies degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
Holly was involved not long ago with age-related decision making in her own family. Although the process was mostly disagreement-free, she is aware that this is often not the case. Her goal is to help people clean up lines of communication and clarify needs so that any conflict related to decisions made by elders can be dealt with effectively.
